#innerG xChange (MAR)

Righteous Movement... Focus. Feel it. Explore the shifts.

Wow! Really? Okay... Happy MARCH, my friend!

What an interesting time of season we're in. For us NYkers, the weather has been lively to say the least. Sneak peeks of Spring one day, to a complete Winter nor'easter the next. And if we're honest, perhaps our thoughts have been the same way. Okay, I'll speak for myself... they've been intense, ya'll.

As we honor the subconscious seed(s) planted this Winter, we understand the next season patiently awaits. Cultivation begins, and change is finally coming above the surface. Our movements during this time are key. How do we move as we come into what we want? For March, I'm examining righteous movement (on and off the mat), and the active practice of centering or finding balance.

Even in our stillest poses, there is movement. Check out my yoga video below, and watch me play around with this concept in headstand. My legs and breath move in sync, while my heart and belly sustain their separate movement. Altogether, I explore the subtle, endless re-balancing shifts required moment to moment.
Just trying to balance it all... with a lil' sass, of course! Wait for it ; )
Practicing these 'subtle, endless re-balancing shifts' off the mat is just as intentional. As we cultivate our goals and passions, change starts to reveal itself in (what may appear to be) a challenge. Here's our moment to make a righteous move. What exactly do I mean? Glad you asked ; )
  • FOCUS. Zoom in on the presumed challenge (i.e. work life, "me time", relationships, business growth, health/healing, etc.). And now with that in mind, zoom out and examine it with a wider lens. Case in point: In my yoga video, I practiced headstand, since 'inversion poses' literally make us see things upside down. Don't worry... you don't have to do a headstand to have the same effect. Just take 3 long breaths and think, "How am I willing to see (presumed challenge) differently?" Don't expect your answer immediately. Trust me, change is a-coming ; )
  • FEEL IT or FEEL LIT. (Depending on the day ; ) Oh yeah. Change is here. Now lets practice this pose... and feel it, or feel lit ; ) Be it the array of thoughts or moods that come into your mind (while navigating the challenge), or the inner fire that burns within as you actively practice "being comfortable with not being comfortable". Its a #goals place to be. And I couldn't have asked for better teachers. Shout out to my dear sister + new super mama Hillary for embodying strength, beauty and now more than ever, humility. Here's to building a #Wakanda tribe in real life! FOR THE 3x WIN!!!
  • EXPLORE THE SHIFTS. As we gradually leave the stillness of Winter to grasp onto the hope of Spring, be willing to make some internal adjustments. Change is our inevitable teacher, and considers 'ego' an unruly student. With it (ego) in the proverbial corner, we can un-learn/re-learn critical lessons. These lessons manifest as shifts. Sometimes they are subtle, and other times, not so much. A "warmer than usual day" or a "rainy, windy snowstorm". No judgement here ; ) Do what it takes to get back to center-isa. Personally, I've been weighing my critiques and compliments with more neutrality. *deeply exhales* Hard, but good stuff, yo.
In the end, I believe we unearth a new knowingness to our unknown. A refreshed power amidst the new pressure. Lets see how well and righteous we choose to move now ; )

I hope you are enjoying this innerG xChange. Thanks for letting me be vulnerable and empowered with you ; ) Opportunities abound when we live out our truth and celebrate our innerG.

Namaste,
Trina xo
