NYC. #Satnight. 1953. My grandparents (middle couple💖) decided to escape their Midwestern working class #selfemployed reality for a fantasy trip to the #BigApple. Gran’s cousin happened to be the 🎶 Director for “👑 of the Blues” #DinahWashington ... THE most popular #black #female recording artist of the time!!! 💃🏾Granddaddy’s youngest sibling (aptly named ‘Aunt Baby Sis’) joined the trip with her beau, and just like that... their #dreams came true. Here they sat (all 😁😁s) after an unforgettable show. My grandparents returned home with city stories to tell their 3 young boys. I bet they never woulda guessed that 1 of those sons would have a daughter, who’d also make her dream a reality in NYC almost 50 years later.
